Because of the urgency of the post war situation together with the demographic exponent and the political need to create accommodation for all, serious conceptional errors have been made over the last 50 years in housing and collective facilities in France.
Today we all know the consequences of the construction of housing and facilities void of any consideration for, or understanding of, the basic needs of those who are going to live there. However in the last 15 years, as a result of trial and error and because of a growing consciousness, considerable improvements have been made in social and individual housing, in facilities and work places.
Through a day in the life of an ordinary family, each gesture, each activity, each movement will be a pretext to show that, today, solutions exist in France as in other countries.
