Arriving for the first time in Lisbon, a visitor feels strangely at one with what seems to be a multitude of little towns climbing steeply up from the immense estuary of the river Tajo, all bathed in a light unique to this city.
Lisbon and its winding stairways, narrow passages, shafts of light, deep shadows and suddenly, as one climbs higher, its large, open spaces offering breath-taking views. One could almost loose one's way amongst its twists and turns.
Steeped in history, fascinating, lively and beautiful, Lisbon cannot be forgotten… however brief the visit.
