Amongst these artists, Lucinda Childs remains to this day a dominant figure. In 1976 Bob Wilson directs his "opera" Einstein on the beach with music by Philip Glass. Lucinda Childs is hired as the principal interpreter and helps to write the libretto. This work continues in 1979 with a choreography titled Dance which brings together Lucinda Childs, Philip Glass and Sol Lewit. Dance is still considered as one of the most beautiful choreographs in the history of modern dance. Since the 1980's Lucinda Childs is invited all over Europe and the U.S.A to stage her choreographs for the most prestigious dance companies. "Lucinda Childs" is a filmed portrait of one of the major choreographers of our time who has also played a major role in all the artistic and intellectual adventures that have been taking place in New York since the 1960's.
