Up until 1930, all over Europe, it was a common practice to build in earth.
Recently this technique has made an amazing "come back". Raw earth does not require power to be produced.
It is found on the spot where the construction takes place and therefore needs no transport.
It is a material that maintains a fresh temperature in summer, conserves the heat in winter and absorbs humidity.
It is completely recyclable and easy to use by almost everybody.
Shot in France, Spain, Portugal and Austria, this film shows numerous examples of contemporary architecture
in earth and heralds this material as an ideal solution for the construction of the homes of the future. |
