In the history of dance, JEAN WEIDT, choreographer and dancer, was a remarkable phenomenon. He was the first to employ the language of dance as a political instrument in a fight for humanity and for social ideas.
Dancing for ideals, dancing for the improvement of human conditions, such was his goal (just as Brecht in litterature ). His was a categoric NO to traditional dance con
ventions, a NO to all attempts to flee from reality.

Prize for best documentary: DANCE SCREEN 1990.
